Second reading of budget before county council Thursday

Kershaw County Council will hold second reading on the fiscal year 2018-19 budget during a meeting moved to Thursday in the County Government Center. Council passed first reading, in title only, of the budget during its May 22 meeting. During this meeting council will also consider passage of a resolution governing the county’s fund balance, as well as take a look at the budget of the Lugoff Fire District.

Council will also consider the Kershaw County School District’s official request for a 5.4 mill increase in its budget.

Council will also consider second reading of an intergovernmental agreement between Kershaw County and Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) regarding use and maintenance of the CCTC facilities in Camden.

Kershaw County Council meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday instead of today, in the County Government Center, 515 Walnut St., Camden. Meetings are open to the public. For more information or copies of the agenda, go to
