The Kershaw County School District is hiring school bus drivers. Pay is based on experience and includes benefits. A training class will be held July 16-19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School, 1244 U.S. 1 South, Lugoff.

Interested persons should be able to pass drug tests, background checks, a DOT physical exam and a physical performance test. Candidates must also have a high school diploma or GED, and a negative TB test. In addition, applicants must have had a driver’s license for at least a year and have less than four points against it.

Those who wish to attend the bus driver training class do not need to register in advance, but should bring a valid driver’s license with them. Questions should be directed to John Clinton at (803) 669-4210 or (803) 438-8017.

The district is also looking for people interested in serving as substitutes in its school cafeterias. Food Service substitutes are paid $9 per hour and have the potential to become permanent part-time employees. There are currently several part-time openings, so interested persons are encouraged to apply.

Those interested in a food service position, should print and complete an application online at www.kcsdschools.net (click on the employment link) and return it to Amy Ellis, 2029 W. DeKalb St., Camden, SC 29020. For questions, contact Ellis at (803) 432-8416.

All potential employees must have a current TB test and pass a S.C. State Law Enforcement Division background check.
The first day of classes for the 2018-19 school year is Monday, Aug. 20.
