Bolstered by a 5-2 win over previously second-ranked Goose Creek on Saturday in the Palmetto Invitational in Georgetown --- along with a 12-game winning streak --- Kershaw County Post 17 sits atop this week’s American Legion state rankings which appear on the Website.

The 17ers (15-2) jumped eight slots from the ninth spot in last week’s poll which was headed by Inman, which fell to eighth in the rankings. Sumter, which like KC is a member of League III, sits in 10th place while another league member, Lexington --- which opened the year ranked second in the poll --- is among others receiving votes.

KC has a 4-0 record among teams ranked among the top 10 in the poll with two wins over Sumter along with a victory over both Goose Creek and Florence this season.
