Fountain camp set for CHS Saturday

Former Camden High and Clemson University defensive end Maurice “Mo” Fountain will host a one-day youth football camp at Camden High School on Saturday, July 7.

The camp, which will be held on the practice field at CHS located behind the Wellness Center and alongside York St., will be hosted by Fountain and will include former college and NFL players as instructors.

The session will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The cost is $25 per camper and includes drills, speed and agility and position technique sessions followed by a Q & A with Fountain and his staff.

Those attending the camp are asked to park in the parking lot next to the main gym at the school which can be accessed via Ehrenclou Drive. Due to ongoing renovation work at the school, the Wellness Center parking lot will be closed.

Fountain played in three bowl games and appeared in 50 games at Clemson. He was among the last round of cuts by the Miami Dolphins in 2008. Fountain signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2011 and was released on Sept. 3, 2011. Three days later, he was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad and was signed to the active roster on Jan. 2, 2012 later that summer, Fountain sustained an injury which cut short his NFL career.
