Free business seminars offered at KC Library

The Kershaw County Library and the Downtown Camden program have partnered to offer Summer Seminars for small business owners and other members of the public July 10th - August 7th at the Camden Library branch, 1304 Broad St. Please find a brief description of each week’s seminar below, to be included in the community calendar, as you see fit. All “seminars” will be held from 4-6 p.m.

July 10 --  Hands On with Google Listings, Guides & More

Can people find you on Google? In this hands-on working seminar, we will make sure your free Google Business Listing is accurate and attractive, that you understand what Google Guides is all about and make it work for your business, and find free Google resources to strengthen your small business skills. Bring your laptop, tablet or smart phone to work on.

July 17 -- Free Library Resources to Save Your Business Time & Money

Work smarter, not harder! Kershaw County Library has free resources you can use from home or work that will strengthen your business and save you time. We’ll show you how. Bring your laptop, tablet or smart phone.

July 24 -- Human Resources Law: Top 10 Tips for HR & Business Leaders

Attorney Michael Henthorne, a specialist in employment and labor law, focuses his practice on representing management in employment litigation. Join us as he shares his top ten legal tips for HR and business leaders, and be sure to stay for the Q&A conversation following his presentation.

July 31 -- Facebook Basics, Free and Paid Marketing

You’ve got a Facebook page, but what can you do to make sure people see your posts? This hands on seminar will go over the basics of Facebook pages, events, boosts and paid ads. Make sure you’re doing everything you can to get the most engagement! Bring your laptop.

August 7 -- Succession Planning for Small Business Owners

What are the benefits of planning your exit strategy, when the time comes? What should you consider before deciding to sell or close your doors? What do you need to do today to sell business in 3 years? Who could help you through this process?
