Elizabeth Combs weds Jacob William Moriarty

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob William Moriarty

Elizabeth Lane Combs of Camden, SC, and Jacob William Louis Moriarty of Rochester, NY, were married Saturday, June 16, 2018, 6:30 pm. at Lake Murrray, Lexington, SC.

Mr. and Mrs. Bedford Combs, aunt and uncle of the bride officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Gist and Bridget Combs of Camden, SC. Paternal grandparents are the late Durwood and Bess Combs of Columbia, SC. Maternal grandparetns are Frankie Burns and the late Mickey Burns of Camden, SC.

Elizabeth graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 2014 and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a MA in Clinical Psychology from Western Carolina University in 2018. She is employed in a research capacity at USC.

Jacob attended the University of South Carolina. He is employed as an electrician in Columbia, SC.

The bridegroom is the son of Bill Moriarty of Nunda, NY, and Elaine Moriarty of Cassatt, SC. Paternal grandparents are Bill and Jane Moriarty of Rembert, SC. Maternal grandparents are Jeanne Gardner of Rochester, and Terrry Gardner of Swain, both of NY.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Gist Combs.

She had a champagne halter wedding gown with beaded, ornate lace and a mid length veil with lace. Intricate braided hair, rose gold accessories and a sunflower and daisy wildflower bouquet.

Maid of honor was Samantha Burns, Elgin, SC, cousin of bride, with hand of the queen pin.

Bridemaids were Melanie Price, Elgin, SC; Kit Lowe Rion, Atlanta, Ga; Savannah Courtney (cousin of bride) Charlotte, NC; Oceann Stanley, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Maggie Moriarty (sister of groom), Cassatt, SC.

The bridemaids dresses were turquoise tea-length with rose gold accessories, crown braids and sunflower and baby’s breath bouquets.

Best man was Riley Moriarty (brother of groom), Rochester, NY, with hand of the king pin.

Groomsman was John Caulder, Greenwood, SC; Tarek Council, Myrtle Beach, SC; Jonathan Harre, Camden, SC; Erik Tarte, Camden, SC; Austin Burns, (cousin of bride), Camden, SC.

Mother of the bride wore a royal blue dress; mother of the groom wore a burgundy dress; maternal grandmother of the bride wore a mint green dress; maternal grandmother of the groom wore a lilac floral dress; paternal grandmother of the groom wore a navy floral dress.

The outdoor Lakefront was decorated with a wicker arch, with tulle and sunflowers, with potted ferns and sunflowers.
“Over the Rainbow,” “Storybook Love” and “Concerning Hobbits” was the ceremony music.

The couple danced their first dance to “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica.

The father/daughter dance was “That’s How Strong My Love Is,” Rolling Stones.

The Mother/son dance was “Off He Goes,” Pearl Jam.

The couple will reside in Columbia, SC.
