Col. Travis B. Richardson

Col. Travis B. Richardson, son of Raymond Richardson and Ruth Omonijo, assigned as an Internal Medicine staff physician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (also known as the “President’s Hospital”), was recently selected as the new chief of the Executive Medicine Service at Walter Reed. Richardson will be responsible for oversight and leadership of the Executive Medicine Service. The Executive Medicine Clinic provides patient-centered primary care for our nation’s leaders. Beneficiaries include members of the president’s cabinet, members of the U. S. Congress, the U.S. Supreme Court Justices, active duty and retired flag/general officers and their beneficiaries/family members, current senior executive services (who are retired military), secretary/deputy secretary and assistant secretary of the military and Department of Defense, foreign dignitaries, foreign military flag/general officers on orders or with letters of secretarial designation and Medal of Honor recipients. Last summer, Richardson was also selected as the internal medicine consultant to the U.S. Army Surgeon General. In this position, he serves as the subject matter expert in internal medicine for the U.S. Army in support of the Office of the Surgeon General. He also provides mentorship and leadership to all internal medicine physicians in the U.S. Army.
