For the second in its “Police in the Park” series, the Camden Police Department (CPD) set up at Rectory Square on Saturday, July 7. The threat of rain didn’t keep Officer Karen DeVors from being honored for becoming Camden’s first D.A.R.E. officer in many years, or folks from all over town coming out to be served hot dogs, drinks and more by CPD officers. Kona Ice served up some cool treats and King Haigler Athletic Club set up an obstacle course for kids. Some officers even got into the “swing” of things. The CPD’s first “Police in the Park” even took place at Boykin Park on June 9.
