Discover Camden-Kershaw County magazine (2017 issue shown above), the official visitor/relocation guide for Camden and Kershaw County, returns in September. Discover Camden-Kershaw County highlights those unique and special elements that makes this area such a wonderful place to live, work and play. The magazine is a collaboration between Camden Media Company, the Kershaw Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center and the Camden/Kershaw County Tourism Development Office.

Camden Media Co., the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center and the city of Camden/Kershaw County Tourism Development Office are once again joining forces to publish an annual magazine devoted to what makes Kershaw County such a great place to visit, live and play.

Discover Camden-Kershaw County -- a slick, glossy magazine -- will return in September and will be available throughout the year. The publication will undergo format changes and will highlight visitor resources, relocation information and chamber details, to include a directory of chamber members. These sections individually will spotlight attractions, events, dining, arts and antiques shopping, recreation, education and economic development.

Former Chronicle-Independent editor Martha Bruce, who currently edits The Shaw News, published by Camden Media Co., serves as Discover Camden-Kershaw County’s editor. C-I staffers will contribute feature articles showcasing what makes Kershaw County and its communities a unique place for visitors, prospective residents and business/industry.

Discover Camden-Kershaw County is published each September and placed at locations throughout the county. The magazine will also be available at the chamber and Kershaw County Economic Development Office and distributed to the state’s welcome centers and the Olde English District, as well as other locations around South Carolina.

The 2018 edition of Discover Camden-Kershaw County will be included in chamber relocation packets distributed to potential individuals and businesses interested in Kershaw County as a new home. It will also be supplied to anyone who asks for additional information about Kershaw County through the chamber’s website.

“We are very pleased to join with the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center and the Camden-Kershaw County Tourism Development Partnership again in publishing this magazine and are confident it will continue to prove to be a huge benefit to the area,” Camden Media Co. Publisher Mike Mischner said.

Chamber Executive Director Amy Kinard agreed.

“I am very pleased to continue the partnership with Camden Media Co. and the Camden-Kershaw County Tourism Development Partnership director for the publication of the Discover Camden-Kershaw County magazine,” Kinard said. “Our plans for this year’s magazine are exciting. From the articles to the events listing and relocation information, we will continue to produce a high-quality magazine that highlights all parts of our great county!”

Suzi Sale, director of the Camden-Kershaw County Tourism Development Partnership, said the magazine is a great resource that showcases the sites, amenities and activities which drive tourism economics through the Camden-Kershaw County region.

“Discover is an invaluable tool that we make available to tourists at all SCPRT Welcome Centers across the state, and it helps us generate and welcome visitors to discover the ‘Classically Carolina’ place we call home,” Sale said.
