County football coaches will address KCGC meeting

AN UPDATE ON FACILITIES at USC will be provided at the Kershaw County Gamecock Club meeting in Camden next month.

The Kershaw County Gamecock Club (KCGC) will host its annual “2018 Carolina Kickoff” meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Old South & Catery, 509 Dicey Ford Road, in Camden.

Chris Clark from will preview the upcoming Gamecock football season.  Additionally, there will be a short presentation on athletic facilities upgrades at the University of South Carolina.

This year, the kickoff meeting also includes a preview of the four Kershaw County high school football teams with the head coaches --- Matt Campbell (Lugoff-Elgin), Tyronne Drakeford (North Central), Will Rice (Camden Military Academy) and Brian Rimpf (Camden High) --- all scheduled to be in attendance to address the gathering.

The KCGC invites all football fans to attend the event which is open to the public as guests do not have to be a Gamecock Club member to be a part of the evening.

The doors open at 6 p.m. with food being served at 6:30 p.m. There will also be drawings for raffle prizes.

Tickets are $15 each in advance (prior to Aug. 20) or $20 at the door. Children’s tickets (ages 10-15) will be available at the door for $10. Children ages 10 and under will be admitted free of charge.
