Kershaw County’s team of All-America City representatives will address Camden City Council during its regular meeting tonight. There will be no afternoon work session.

A team representing all of Kershaw County, including the city of Camden and the towns of Bethune and Elgin, as well as the Kershaw County School District and other entities, won one of 10 All-America City awards for 2018 from the National Civil League (NCL) in late June.

Not only did the team -- which included Camden Mayor Alfred Mae Drakeford -- win one of the All-America City community awards, but it brought home two other awards, making it essentially a clean sweep for Kershaw County.
