Led by the duo of Michaelah Wise and Tristan Ray, the Lugoff-Elgin girls’ golf team scored its first two wins of the season by defeating Spring Valley and Dutch Fork in a three-team match played at the Camden Country Club last Thursday.

The Lady Demons, coached by Zoe Dommel, shot a 213 while Spring Valley was two strokes behind at 215 while Dutch Ford carded a 224.

Wise, a senior, shot a 41 while Ray, a sophomore, carded a 49 for nine holes. L-E sophomore Jessica Ni scored the best round of her young career with a 58. Freshman Brooke Jackson posted a 65 and senior Kelsey Ham a 67 for the winners.

In addition to being the program’s first win over Spring Valley, Wise also made L-E girls’ golf history when she recorded the first eagle in the program’s young history.
