Camden JVs edge L-E, 27-22

The Camden junior varsity football team opened its season with a 27-22 win over visiting Lugoff-Elgin in a Thursday night game played at the CHS Athletic Complex.

The Bulldogs led, 13-6, after the first quarter and trailed 14-13 at halftime. The hosts used a fourth quarter touchdown to secure the victory.

Freshman Anthony Lyles scored two touchdowns for Camden while Jaffari Pearson and John Hawks added scores. The Bulldog defense was led by Silias Coleman, Joseph Byrnes, LaShayd Mickle and Jonathan Chavis.
