Three students earn scholarship

S.C. State Rep. Laurie Slade Funderburk (second from right) recently presented scholarships to (from left) Zoe Elizabeth Sanders, Olivia Walsh and Sophia Altieri.

Sophia Altieri, Zoe Elizabeth Sanders, Olivia Walsh have been awarded the 2018 Laurie Slade Funderburk Leadership Scholarship. The South Carolina General Assembly Women’s Caucus awards scholarships in honor of each of the women legislators currently serving in the South Carolina General Assembly. Representative Funderburk is a past Chair of the Women’s Caucus.

Sophia, the daughter of Nicole and James, is a 2018 graduate of Camden High School. Sophia is attending Clemson University and plans a career as a forensic pathologist.

Zoe, the daughter of Monica Lynn and Scott Sanders, is a 2018 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School. Zoe is attending the Anderson University and plans to become a pediatric doctor.

Olivia, the daughter of Heather and David Walsh, is a 2018 graduate of North Central High School. Olivia is attending the University of South Carolina to study criminal justice with aspirations of ultimately becoming an FBI agent.
