Clarke Allen, a member of the class of 2019, is one of the many students on Wofford’s Orientation Staff who will greet first-year students on Wednesday, Aug. 29, as the college welcomes the Class of 2022. Allen is from Camden.

The Orientation Staff leadership team helps plan, organize and manage activities designed to help first-year college students make the transition from high school to college. They foster supportive relationships, serve as role models and offer peer mentoring.

Wofford College, established in 1854, is a four-year, residential liberal arts college located in Spartanburg. It offers 26 major fields of study to a student body of 1,690 undergraduates.

Michaela Simpson, a management major from Ridgeway, was one of seven Coastal Carolina University (CCU) students who had the opportunity to apply lessons from their studies at CCU in South Africa during the month of May this summer. The Maymester was a part of the South Carolina to South Africa program at CCU.

CCU is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway. CCU offers baccalaureate degrees in 74 major fields of study. Among CCU’s 21 graduate-level programs are 18 master’s degrees, two educational specialist degrees, and the Ph.D. in marine science: coastal and marine systems science.

Central Carolina Technical College recently announced the Summer 2018 student honors lists.

The President’s List recognizes students who were enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours and achieved a 4.0 grade point average for the term. The Part-Time President’s List recognizes students who were enrolled in 6-11 credit hours and achieved a 4.0 grade point average for the term.

The Dean’s List recognizes students who were enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours and achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average for the term. This term, 174 students have been honored. The Part-Time Dean’s List recognizes students who were enrolled in 6-11 credit hours and achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average for the term.
