Lady Knights fitted for another region crown

Leaving nothing to chance, the North Central volleyball team secured the Region 4-AA title with a 3-0 win over visiting Lewisville last Thursday.

The Lady Knights, who tied for the 4-AA championship a year ago only to lose to Buford in a one-match tie-breaker, improved to 11-0 in conference play heading into tonight’s match against visiting Buford. The first set is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start

The Lady Knights (13-0) breezed past Lewisville, 25-10, 25-15 and 25-10, with Alayna Johnson sending down 17 kills to go with six digs, three aces and a block. McKenna Arrants had nine kills, three digs and two blocks while Rhi Hendrix and Madison Dixon each had five kills with Dixon adding 17 digs and an ace while Hendrix had a block, an assist and a dig.

Aaliyah White had 32 assists with 10 digs, three aces and a kill. Peyton Holley had 17 digs, five kills and three assists with Tierra Preston adding five aces, five digs, two kills and a block for the winners.

L-E thumps Irmo: The Lugoff-Elgin volleyball team improved to 3-2 in Region 4-5A play with a 25-7, 25-8 and 25-7 road win at Irmo last Thursday.

The Lady Demons traveled to Sumter on Monday and will be at Blythewood tonight in another conference pairing.
