The Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that a winning “Shop Local” logo has been chosen.
Online voting by the community took place over a two-week period, with a total of 344 votes cast. The winning logo, with 55 percent of the votes, was designed by Marjorie Gates of Lugoff.

“The Chamber is very excited to have this fun and inclusive logo to use to promote shopping all around Kershaw County. Thank you to everyone who voted and to all of the wonderful artists who submitted entries.” said Amy Kinard, Executive Director of the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the review committee.

Three logos were selected as finalists from eighteen entries submitted in August and September. A small review committee made up of marketing, arts, business, and chamber representatives selected the finalists blindly (not knowing the names of the logo designers). Finalist logos were selected based on their color, creative design, and flexibility to use throughout Kershaw County.

Gates, who is a photographer, videographer and digital marketing manager, will receive a $500 cash prize and an award to recognize her winning design.

“I am so excited that my logo was chosen,” Gates said. “I hope it helps encourage people to think about Kershaw County first and shop local. Working locally in my dad’s small business, Broadstreet Marketing, has helped me appreciate the importance of working with local individuals who understand the community and their needs.”

This winning design will be used as part of a marketing campaign to “Shop Local” in Kershaw County. For more information, contact Amy Kinard at the Chamber, (803) 432-2525 or
