The city of Camden has, once again, proclaimed the month of October as Unity Month.

Several events are scheduled, beginning with the sixth annual Unity Revival Service at Camden Second Presbyterian Church, 816 Market St. in Camden, on Tuesday at 6 p.m., featuring the Rev. Gregory Mallory, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, as the revivalist. Rev. Mallory will be joined by his church’s choir for special music.

Camden Second Presbyterian will also be the site of an annual Unity Sunday service at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21. The Unity message will be delivered by Kershaw County School District Superintendent Dr. Shane Robbins. Special music will be provided by Mollye Robinson, of Camden First United Methodist Church, and Brenda Pogue of First Calvary Baptist Church of Columbia.

In addition, Camden Second Presbyterian is urging everyone to choose a day this month to do something -- large or small -- for the community.

“We encourage you to do something that expresses your preference for unity in the greater Camden community during the month of October,” organizers said.
