Lafayette Square Apartments sold for $2.6 million

The Lafayette Square Apartments off U.S. 521 several miles north of Camden has changed hands.

According to a deed recorded Oct. 18 at the Kershaw County Register of Deeds office, Lafayette Square Associates, a South Carolina limited partnership, sold the nine-building complex to Lafayette Square Owner LLC, a limited liability company based in Bloomfield, Mich., for $2.6 million.

Lafayette Square Associates, part of American Apartment Management of Knoxville, Tenn., owned the property starting in February 1981, according to Kershaw County property records. The two companies signed off on the purchase on Oct. 11.

The new owners, Lafayette Square Owner LLC, formed in September, according to the S.C. Secretary of State’s website. Its registered agent is National Registered Agents Inc. with an office on Park Court in Columbia.

The affordable housing apartment complex was built in 1977 and features 72 units in its nine, two-story buildings.

Also, according to a deed recorded Oct. 18 and signed Oct. 10, ALOKI LLC, whose registered agent is Brijesh Patel, of Little River, sold the 903 Market and Grill at 1926 McBee Hwy. near Jefferson, for $150,000 to Gatayae LLC, whose registered agent is Brian Tyson, of Charleston.
