Get in the spirit of Halloween at Camden’s oldest site filled with its own lore. Historic Camden, 222 Broad St,, will be hosting two Halloween events -- one for families of all ages this Saturday and another called Haunts & Spirits on Sunday aimed at ages 16 and older.

Halloween at Historic Camden, to be held from 6 to 9 p.m., features decorated historic houses and free trick-or-treating. There will also be hay rides, ghost tours of the Kershaw-Cornwallis House and concessions for sale. Last year, 1,500 kids and their parents explored our spooky site at night as part of their Halloween fun.

If your organization would like to purchase a sponsor table, contact margaret@historiccamden.org.

New this year is Haunts & Spirits, to be held Sunday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join local paranormal researchers and their spirit storytellers throughout the site to learn more about Camden’s legends, eerie paranormal events, and other local history. This event is aimed at ages 16 and older.

The cost is $10 per person and tickets can be purchased by visiting the Facebook event or calling the gift shop at (803) 432-9841. Tour spaces are limited and may sell out. McCaa’s Tavern will be open with beer and wine sales. Contact margaret@historiccamden.org with questions.
