Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies flew to Miffling County, Pennsylvania, to take a man into custody on a charge of having sexual relations with a 12-year-old Kershaw County girl. David Anthony Servinsky, 34, of Burnham, Pa., faces two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim 11 to 14 years of age.

Burnham is about one hour northwest of the Pennsylvania capital of Harrisburg.

“It goes without saying that Servinsky is a sexual predator who needed to be taken off the street,” Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said in a KCSO press release issued Monday. “Fortunately, through very thorough investigation he was identified, located, taken into custody and returned to Kershaw County to answer for his crimes.”

In a brief telephone conversation Monday morning, Matthews confirmed Servinsky is a Pennsylvania resident who was working in the North Augusta area at the time of the alleged contact with the young girl.

In July 2018, the KCSO received information from the 12-year-old girl’s mother that an adult white male named David, who drove a black Dodge Ram pickup truck, had sexual relations with her daughter on two occasions in the parking lot of a business in Kershaw County. She advised that her daughter had met Servinsky online.

A KCSO investigator began working the case over a three-month period and was able to identify Servinsky as the suspect. Further investigation revealed that he was in Pennsylvania. The KCSO investigator obtained arrest warrants for Servinsky and contacted personnel with the Mifflin County Regional Police Department in Pennsylvania who were already familiar with Servinsky.

Within an hour after being contacted by the KCSO investigator, Mifflin law enforcement personnel were able to arrest Servinsky who waived extradition. On Oct. 25, two deputies flew to Pennsylvania aboard a S.C. Department of Natural Resources aircraft and returned the same day with Servinsky. They transported him to the Kershaw County Detention Center where he appeared before Magistrate Darrell Drakeford who denied his bond.

According to the KCSO, Servinsky has previously been arrested for retail theft and multiple narcotics offenses.
