The Camden Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Monday at Proctor Hall. The historic home is a great location for a meeting. There is ample room and lots of natural light steams in from the large picture windows giving a warm and cozy feel. The program scheduled for this month is perfect for this time of year with spring in the air. Our speaker will be Sunshine Smith, who has started an organic gardening group and she will be enlightening the members on the benefits of organic gardening. As the days lengthen and the trees start budding most of us are putting on our gloves and getting down and dirty with mother earth. There are helpful hints in the yearbook every month to keep even the most forgetful gardener on tract.
Each month members are encouraged to bring in any arrangements or specimens from their own gardens. There should be lots to judge in both categories with everything starting to pop. Also, there have been lots of workshops on making arrangements and what judges look for that members are jumping into the fun and entering things. The suggested theme is “Carolina In the Spring” and the judges this month will be Nancy Cheek, chairman, Ann Bell, Cathy Clark, and Linda Culler. Only fresh material from your garden should be used. Last month the specimens and arrangements that were brought in all earned blues for their efforts.

After the judge’s report, the organic program and meeting, hostess chairman Joy Scully, with added help from Debra Gregory, Neal Stegner, and Brenda Sullivan, is sure to put out a spectacular spread with a wide variety of delicious goodies for club members to enjoy.
