Camden Post Office to host passport fair Saturday

The downtown Camden Post Office will host a passport fair from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Citizens interested in applying for a passport may download an application at or pick up an application at the post office. The Camden Post Office can provide passport photo services. 

Applicants must provide a valid S.C. driver's license/or identification card, and their long form birth certificate. A birth certificate card will not be accepted. Applicants with an out-of-state driver's license must provide an additional form of identification. For a child’s passport, both parents must be present and have valid identification.

Normal State Department processing time for passports is four to six weeks. Applications may be expedited to be returned within two weeks. Applications may be further expedited under two weeks; instructions may be from a passport processing agent.

Applicants can pay with cash, check or debit card only. Costs are as follows: passport photo, $15 per applicant; processing, $25; adult passport book fees, $110; children younger than 16 passport book fees, $80; passport card fees, $30; and expedited fees, $60.

Passports are valid for 10 years. If renewing a passport or a passport has expired, applicants must provide their previous passport.
