The 230th anniversary of the Battle of Hobkirk’s Hill will be commemorated April 19-25 during which time citizens are encouraged to fly Betsy Ross flags.

The observance is promoted by the Hobkirk’s Hill Society each year to help create awareness of the battle’s role in the Revolutionary War. The battle was fought on April 25, 1781, near Camden.

Betsy Ross flags, named for the woman widely credited with making the first American flag, are available for purchase, at $35 each, through the society at Miller Lumber Co. on York Street in Camden.
