Long after the fans and both teams had left Optimist Field, Lugoff-Elgin baseball coach Randy Stokes walked his family to their car in the parking lot. On the way back to turn the lights off at the field, he stopped to talk to the school’s athletic director, Scott Jones, and assistant football coach Calvin McRoy.
