Come out for a doggone good time at Grace Episcopal Church’s 75th annual Spring Dog Show, to be held Saturday in Rectory Square in Camden.

Sixteen classes of competition will be offered, including one for dogs obtained from any animal shelter. Registration, which begins at 10 a.m., is $4 per pet, per class,

Other competition classes include pure-bred dogs, puppies, herding dogs, costumed class, non-sporting dogs and “Heinz 57” dogs.

All proceeds from the Spring Dog Show benefit the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, show organizers said where every dollar counts toward providing care for Kershaw County’s homeless and abandoned animals.

There will be hot dogs, burgers, homemade goodies and drinks for sale at the dog show.

Grace Church’s dog show is a tradition in Kershaw County, recognized as a quality production, complete with ring, ringmaster, announcer, qualified judges, ribbons and trophies. Last year’s show was a great success, organizers reported, with a record $6,000 raised and donated to the local shelter.

“Please join us for this year’s special 75th anniversary event, and enjoy a day at the park with your family and pets, with all proceeds to aid in the humane treatment of orphaned and abandoned animals,” said organizers.

The rain date for the event is May 7.
