Camden Archives receives donation |

|
A British short land pattern military musket, often called a “brown bess” was donated to the Camden Archives and Museum last week by Thom Williamson of Macon Ga., on left. The 10 pound weapon is estimated to have been made in the 1770s and used by a British soldier during the Revolutionary War. Howard Branham, Camden Archives director, said this type of musket was used by both sides during the Battles of Camden and Hobkirk’s Hill.
