“Remember when...” is a weekly historical feature showcasing life in Kershaw County, taken from the archives of the Chronicle-Independent. Five students at Boylan-Haven-Mather Academy were named “Scholar of the Month” in May 1980. They included Morris Armstrong, music scholar; Kenneth Meadows, mathematics scholar; Steven Meadows, art scholar; Tyrone Love, religion and social studies scholar; and Willis McKenny, English scholar.
