Despite losing its first game in Region 3-A play, the North Central High volleyball team completed their first go-through in conference action with an unblemished, 4-0 record.

The four-ranked Lady Knights were extended to four games before downing host McBee last Thursday. The victory also kept NC’s overall dual match record spotless through eight pairings.

Andy Johnson’s girls won the opening game, 25-18, before taking game two, 25-15. The Lady Panthers broke NC’s 11-game win streak in conference play by taking game three, 25-20. The guests then avoided a fifth game tie-breaker by closing the night with a 25-17 win.

Seniors April Barrett and Kelle Phillips each had double-doubles in the contest. Barrett had 27 assists, 12 digs, six aces and a kill from her setting post while Phillips had 25 digs to go along with 13 kills.

Elexis Ross had 14 digs, six kills and an assist. Tiffany Rogers had eight digs, four kills, three assists and two aces. Samantha Snipes added nine kills, four digs and block. Madeline Pate contributed five digs, three kills and two aces. Hannah Gainey had four digs, a kill and an ace while Ashley Rogers had an ace, an assist and a dig with Cassady Robinson adding a kill and a dig.

The Lady Knights have one match this week when they host conference foe Lewisville Thursday in a 6 p.m. start.
