Toast your pets and the joy they bring you at the annual Yappy Hour fundraiser for the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter Thursday.

The benefit will begin at 5 p.m. at the Springdale Race Course grandstand and will kick off the Carolina Hound Show weekend.

A variety of fun dog classes will be open for competition including costume, look-a-like, limbo and high jump and retrieving, each rewarded with raffle prizes.

Ron Danta and Danny Robertshaw of Camden, who have been recognized for their animal rescue work and support of the shelter, will cater the event, and there will be a cash bar featuring the Yappy Hour’s signature drinks, Yappy-Aid and Mutt Juleps.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 14 and younger. The event will also include a silent auction with many raffle prizes. All proceeds will benefit the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter.

“Please join us for an evening of fun and food, and don’t forget to bring your dog!” urge Yappy Hour organizers.
