The Kershaw County Ministers Association is proud to sponsor the annual community Lenten services each year. This has been a tradition of long standing.

This past Lenten season, the following churches hosted a service: Lakeview Baptist, St. Timothy’s Lutheran, St. Matthew United Methodist, First Nazarene, Lyttleton Street United Methodist and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic. Each church received a love offering for the association’s transient fund.

The association also sponsors a community Thanksgiving service on Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving Day.

The purpose statement of the association is, “We exist to be more like Christ and to lead more to Christ.” “This causes the community to come together for worship and fellowship during the Lenten season each year,” said Rev. Scott Roberts, president of the association.

The association encourages ministers to volunteer as chaplains at KershawHealth. Ordained ministers may call Rev. Angelia Jennings at St. Timothy Lutheran Church at 432-2012.
