The residents at Springdale Health Care celebrated in style the week of May 8-14. Administrators and staff saluted residents during National Nursing Home Week with a special performance from the Lugoff-Elgin High School band, as well as a visit from Camden Mayor Jeffrey Graham. Graham cut the ribbon during the opening ceremony, marking the beginning of a week filled with fun and games, including sack races, egg walks, tug of war and a water balloon toss. Following along with a Mardi Gras theme, all the residents’ halls were decorated as various parts of New Orleans, like Merle’s Way, Eve’s Bayou and French Quarters. Graham also presented the residents with a proclamation, stating the city of Camden recognizes National Nursing Home Week.  Springdale Health Care Administrator  Debbie Sparks  said she was happy to be a part of the celebration.

“I’m proud to celebrate this wonderful group of people and all they have done for us and the community,” she said. “A lot of what we do this week comes from direct feedback from the residents. They have a big input and we hope they are able to enjoy themselves.”
