A Boater’s Education Class is being offered in conjunction with SC Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) and the Kershaw Conservation District.

Certified SCDNR instructor, Jack Truesdale will teach the class, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with lunch provided by the Kershaw Conservation District.

The SCDNR Boater Education Program teaches the fundamentals of safe and responsible boating. This is necessary to reduce loss of life, personal injury and property damage while increasing boating enjoyment for outdoor enthusiasts.
Boaters under the age of 16 are required by law to pass an approved boater education course before operating a personal watercraft (jet ski) or a boat powered by 15 hp motor or more without supervision.

Participants under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, or legal guardian.

To register, go to (Boater’s Education Link), or call 1-800-277-4301.

This class will be cancelled if at least 10 people are not registered by May 25.
