Funeral services to celebrate the life of Lorena Grace Mahaffey Brockman, 94, of Camden, will be held Monday, May 30, 2011  at 11:00 AM at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Sheila Rogers and Rev. Frank Griffith will officiate. The family received friends Sunday, May 29, 2011 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to Lyttleton St. United Methodist Church, 1206 Lyttleton St., Camden, SC 29020.

Mrs. Brockman, widow of Ernest Decatur Brockman, died, Friday, May 27, 2011. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Emory Belton and Effie Henderson Mahaffey. She was a member of Lyttleton St. United Methodist Church and the Wimberly Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Hobkirk Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and member and past president of the John D. Kennedy Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Brockman served as a volunteer at the Kershaw County Medical Center for more than twenty years and was an avid reader and bridge player.

Surviving are her sons, Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Ernest D. Brockman, Jr. and his wife, Beverly of Summerville and William Timothy Brockman of Hanahan; daughters, Melinda B. Kane of Camden and Suzanne B. McLeod and her husband, Richard Van McLeod of Aiken; grandchildren, Amy McLeod, Brock McLeod, and Melissa Payne; great grandchildren Caroline and Emily Payne. She was predeceased by five brothers and a sister.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
