Lugoff Optimist Club honors oratorical contest winner, finalists

The Lugoff Optimists welcomed five students to the May meeting at Halls Restaurant in Lugoff. Oratorical contest finalists Austen Haney from Lugoff-Elgin Middle School, Claire Yount from L-EMS, Azhane Kinlaw from Stover Middle School (SMS) and Optimist Oratorical Contest State of South Carolina champion Nathan Fuller from SMS, performed their speeches for the audience. The Lugoff Optimist Club has sponsored three of the last six state champion oratorical contest winners. Pictured above are Haney, Yount, Lugoff Optimist Warren Wood, Kinlaw and Fuller.

The Optimists also welcomed Miss Lugoff-Elgin Teen Julianna Cobb, a junior at Lugoff-Elgin High School. Cobb performed her chosen talent, rocking out on an electric guitar for the crowd.
