The Kershaw County Back to School Bash Committee utilizes community resources to provide free school supplies to area youth and help families access information and services within the community.  The committee is celebrating its 15th year of service to the community and anticipates assisting approximately 1,500 elementary, middle, high and college students from Kershaw County and surrounding areas.

This year’s event will feature Solicitor Dan Johnson, Dr. Victoria Fletcher and the First Smiles Dental Team, Niece’s Barber and Beauty School, Richland County Sheriff’s Department DARE truck, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, area colleges and local entertainment.

The Kershaw County Back to School Bash Committee is accepting donations. School supplies may be dropped off at the following locations: McClure’s Barbershop, Murphy’s and A-1 Car Care or a financial contribution can be made at AllSouth Federal Credit Union in Camden.  For more information regarding the Kershaw County Back to School Bash e-mail schoolbash@aol.com.

The 2011 Kershaw County Back to School Bash will be held July 30 at the Rhame City Arena, 517 Bull St., Camden from 9 a.m. to noon.
