The Camden Smashers are headed to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Junior Team Tennis State Championships to be held at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday. The team won the 12 and under Intermediate Division in the Columbia Tennis League, thereby earning the right to compete at the state level. The state champion will travel to Mobile, Ala., this fall for the opportunity to compete against other teams in USTA’s nine-state, Southern regional. The junior team plays out of the Camden Country Club and  is coached by the club’s tennis pro, Christie Davis. Pictured on the front row, from left, are Coach Christie Davis, Kyle Patrick Cassidy, Brianna Parker, Nickolas Smith and Whitney Crawford. The back row includes Jared Conwell, Ned Adams, Cameron Jenkins, Reid Heaton, Shaw Wilgis and Lindsey Smutz. Missing from the team photo are Robert Lackey and assistant coach John Hayes.
