Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA) at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church used August as mission emphasis month in support of the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County. In addition to learning about the Clinic and volunteer opportunities, WELCA members hosted an open house on Aug. 23 so that church members could meet the staff and tour the facilities. St Timothy’s collected donations for the Clinic throughout August. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provided supplemental funding. Pictured presenting a check for $1,894 to the Clinic are Ann Duckworth, WELCA project chairman and Clinic volunteer, Anne Compton, WELCA president, Kathy Moser, Clinic Nurse Practitioner, and Susan LeClair, Community Service Director for the local Thrivent Chapter.
