Memorial services to celebrate the life of Edward Niles “Ned” McDowell, 85, of Camden, will be held 11:00 AM Saturday August 6, 2011 at Grace Episcopal Church, the Reverend Michael Bullock will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Friday August 5, 2011 at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel, and again following the service in Richardson Hall at Grace Episcopal Church. 

Mr. McDowell died Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late, Edward Niles McDowell, Sr. and Mary Davis Villepigue McDowell. Mr. McDowell was a United States Air Force Veteran and was retired from DuPont. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

Mr. McDowell is survived by his wife, Golda “Judy” Weathers McDowell and sons, John V. “Jack” McDowell and Paul E. McDowell, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests those desiring so, may make memorials to the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation, 12151 Avenue of the Chiefs, Crazy Horse, SD 57730-8900.

 Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
