Support United Way 'Heroes'

Several months ago, I was honored to be asked to serve as the chairman of this year’s United Way campaign.

Having come here four years ago, I’m a relatively new member of our community. What has made me feel very proud and blessed to live here is the way in which Kershaw County always comes together to support those in need. It goes without saying that the past three years have been challenging and difficult because of the economic downturn. Our community’s generous support of the United Way, even during tough economic times, has helped our community to weather the storm.

The theme of this year’s campaign is “Be a Hero, Change a Life!” Our friends and neighbors who work with the United Way of Kershaw County partnerships and agencies, like New Day on Mill and Food for the Soul, are truly “Super Heroes.” But each one of us in our own way can support these “Heroes” through a gift, no matter how large or how small, to the United Way.

Thank you in advance for the community’s continued generous support of the United Way.
