Nursing scholarship recipients to be honored

Students in the final year of ATEC’s LPN program will be honored at the meeting of the Kiwanis Club  Sept. 6, when a number of scholarship recipients will be recognized.

Kershaw County School District Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan will address the club and its special guests at the meeting. In addition to the Dr. Paul Wood Memorial  Scholarship given by the Kiwanis Club, others will be awarded from the Kershaw County Medical Society, the John T. Stevens  Foundation, Aftercare Medical Equipment and the Gil Woolard family. ATEC’s LPN program will end when these current students graduate this spring.

Kiwanis International is a worldwide service organization dedicated to  community service, especially  the needs of children. Kiwanis is open to any community-minded man or woman who shares the goal of “changing the world one child and one community at a time.” If you would like to join Kiwanis, contact Frank Bernhardt at 432-5651 or come to the meeting Sept. 6. The club meets each first and third Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Seafood Hut.
