Save our souls

Does anyone remember this?

 “It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentleman may cry, ‘Peace, Peace!’ -- but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

Patrick Henry versed these words to wake our country during its revolutionary roots. Nathan Hale regretted that he only had one life to give for his country.

To everyone who will take time to read this, let us face it: we are always in need of help. The two men mentioned above were involved on a very bold scale -- “the good for our country.” I want to talk about ‘The good for our county,” Kershaw County! We need some Patrick Henrys and Nathan Hales to speak up for us.

Can our Kershaw County please be saved from these present-day, frivolous lawsuits sponsored by these “past tense” seemingly unethical and immoral office-holders and decision-makers? These are people not living their usual life because they were either voted out of or have stepped down from a position. Ethical voters have asked Mr. McCaskill’s regime to step aside and have asked Mr. Matthews to take over. I wonder why? I think we all know why. We have seen the common sense evidence.

Mr. McCaskill and whomever his magistrate partners are should be ashamed of themselves. Thank-you, sirs, for wasting our time, tax money and efforts in bringing forth these million dollar lawsuits against our sheriff and thus our county. Mighty fine! Remember that 70 percent of us voted for Jim Matthews. Truth is not slander.

Sheriff Matthews has indeed brought new life to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office. There are some that will stand in his way, and this is actually to be expected. But when these “stand in the way” things keep going on and on, it simply begins to make most of those against him legitimately look bad. It is so easy to see. This is not statistical. It is intentional. It is time to let the good keep going and get rid of the bad. Our sheriff and his entire staff are doing us a very good job, so, let’s go people and support good. We are the taxpayers. Frivolous suits present a bad taste for all of us. Let us work to help the very ones who work hard to help us. We deserve it! At present time and in our future we will be able to pick out the Nathan Hales and the Patrick Henrys who made a difference in where we live and where our children grew up. We can all be of this elite group and remember … we deserve it!
