The Camden Community Concert Band will kick off their 2011-12 concert season with its first practice

Once again the Kershaw County Master Gardner’s Association is holding a Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Homemakers Building at Dekalb and Church Streets in center city Camden.

In these difficult financial times when the price of nearly everything, it seems, has risen out of sight, the Master Gardeners will offer good plants that can be bought for a modest amount of money. Vistors can also get expert advice about yard and garden problems along with the information o grow healthy plants.

Featured this year will be perennials, shrubs, trees, fruit trees, nut trees, yard art, herbs and live gold fish for your pond. Many varieties are extremely limited so come early for best selection.

A new feature this year will be a flea market featuring a little bit of everything and anything. Donations will also be accepted of gently used items from Wednesday Sept. 21 until Friday noon, Sept. 23. No large furniture or clothing, please.

Also new this year is Cup & Cake featuring coffee, iced tea or bottled water and a choice of homemade goodies with a wide assortment from which to choose all for $1.50. Customers may also buy any number of several selections to enjoy at home.

Treats can be eatten as a first or second breakfast, a midmorning snack or just a nosh.

So stop in, say hi and replace those plants the summer has not been kind to on Saturday, Sept. 24th at the Homemakers building in downtown Camden.
