Houde wins twice in TSA victory: Camden resident Morgan Houde scored a win in both singles and doubles to help the Thomas Sumter Academy junior varsity girls’ tennis team to a 5-4 victory over Pee Dee Academy in a Thursday afternoon match.

The victory gave the Lady Generals a 2-0 record on the season.

Houde won her match at third singles with an 8-7 victory over Pee Dee’s Paige Eskridge. She would later team with Anastasia Patterson for an 8-7 win in second doubles over Madison Collins and Elizabeth Turner.

Fellow Camdenite, Meg McFarland, fell to Lauren Eskridge, 8-1, in singles play before combining with Jenna Edenfield to defeat the Pee Dee pairing of Lauren Eskridge and Webster, 8-5, in doubles.

Pee Dee jumped out to a quick start as Haley Scott downed Becca Jenkins, 8-1, before Madison Collins stopped TSA’s Aileen Twohig, 8-2. Patterson gave the Lady Generals a win as she defeated Elizabeth Turner, 8-5, before Edenfield tripped up Rachel Turner, 8-1.

Scott and Paige Eskridge held off Jenkins and Twohig in doubles, 8-3.
