Three up. Three down.

For the third time in as many matches, the Thomas Sumter Academy junior varsity girls’ tennis team came home a winner. This time, the Lady Generals upended Robert E. Lee Academy, 6-3, in a Tuesday afternoon match.

TSA took an early 2-0 lead as Becca Jenkins and Aileen Twohig won at first and second singles in 8-0 and 8-1 wins over Katie Campbell and Sara White, respectively.

Camden’s Morgan Houde lost a tough, 8-5, decision against Hartley Craven at third singles before Anastasia Patterson took an 8-7 win over Caroline Harrelson at fourth singles. Robert E. Lee Academy’s Alex White handed Jenna Edenfield an 8-5 setback at fifth singles before Camden’s Meg McFarland closed singles play by stopping Pamela Kelley, 8-3.

In doubles action, Jenkins and Twohig defeated Campbell and White, 8-2, in first doubles. Craven and Harrelson would outlast Houde and Patterson, 8-6, in second doubles before Edenfield and McFarland closed things by toppling White and Kelley, 8-3.
