Camden Elementary School Principal Ed Yount spent Monday night on the school’s roof as part of an agreement made after challenging the elementary school students to raise $1,000 for the United Way of Kershaw County’s campaign. The students actually exceeded the $1,000 benchmark, and raised as much as $1,349 through a variety of school fundraisers.  On Tuesday morning, Yount said he knew the students would reach their goal, but was pleasantly surprised they exceeded it. During his night on the roof, Yount said he spent his time in a tent “reading and getting some school work done.”
