A graveside funeral service for Ralph Ogburn Young, 84, of Camden will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Quaker Cemetery, Camden. The family will receive friends at Kornegay Funeral Home from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Young died on October 18, 2010. Born in Kershaw County, he was the son of Willis Lemuel and Addie Mae Ogburn Young. He was a farmer, a veteran of World War II, and was retired from the DuPont Company. Mr. Young was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and other medals while serving in Patton’s Army in Europe.

He was happily married to Jo for 60 years. Surviving are his daughter, Amy Mikell (Charles) of West Columbia; his son, David Young (Penny) of Rock Hill; grandchildren Kelly Rogers (Dwayne), Ryan Young (Deana), and great-grandchildren Cameron and Carlee Jo Young, all of Rock Hill; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Kershaw County Medical Clinic, 110 E. DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020 or to the charity of one’s choice.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
