Stars coming out for fourth annual Roger Rules Golf Tournament

The fourth annual Roger Rules Memorial Golf Tournament, to benefit the charitable works of the Roger J. Davis Memorial Fund, will be played on Thursday, Nov. 3rd at The Camden Country Club.

The four-person, best-ball tournament will begin at noon with a shotgun start. The cost is $400 per team and all players will receive a Roger Rules gift bag.

The top three finishing teams will receive prizes as will winners of the longest drive, closest to the pin and other contests. Prizes will include trophies, golf items, gift certificates and a chance to win a new car.

Promptly after the conclusion of play in the tournament, there will be a 19th hole BBQ and awards dinner at the Camden Country Club for all players.

The tournament is hosted by Camden native and Nashville-based singer/songwriter Patrick Davis, the older brother of the late Roger J. Davis, who passed away as the result of a car accident in the summer of 2008.

Davis has arranged for a variety of his friends from the sports and entertainment fields to play in the tournament. Scheduled to play are, Mark Bryan of Hootie and the Blowfish; from the LPGA Tour, Angela Stanford and Kristy McPherson; former USC and NFL players Brad Edwards, Terry Cousin and Corey Miller and former USC football players Blake Mitchell, Reed Morton, Carl Hill, Ryan Brewer, Todd Ellis and Phil Petty.
Teams may sign up at Davis & Sons Guitar Shop, located on the corner of Broad and Rutledge streets in downtown Camden. Payment is due at the time of registration. For further information on the tournament, please call 713-1000.
