Clyde Phillip Drye

Clyde Phillip Drye, 82, of Albemarle, N.C., passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.


Mr. Drye was born January 6, 1929 in Stanly County to the late Marshall Albert Drye and Gertie Lee Miller Drye. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Phallie Truesdale Drye in March of 2008; his brother, Jasper Drye; and his sisters, Gladys Dillinger and Sarah Barringer.


He was the owner of Drye Insurance in Albemarle for 45 years. He was a member of Richfield Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and R. A. Leader.


The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.  The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Richfield Baptist Church, with a 30 minute state, officiated by Rev. Dale Collingwood and Rev. Joe Smith. Burial will follow in Richfield Cemetery.


At other times, the family will meet at his home.


Survivors include his sons; M. Eddie Drye of California and Phil Drye of Albemarle; his brother, Benny R. Drye of Richfield; his sister, Betty Lee Drye of Albemarle; and grandchildren, Myles Edward Drye and Natalea Drye.


Memorials may be made to Richfield Baptist Church, P. O. Box 96, Richfield, NC 28137.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Drye family.
