The Family Resource Center (FRC) will host “Let’s Talk About IT!” a workshop for women and teen girls to discuss the realities of teen dating violence and the importance of healthy relationships.

An estimated one in three teen girls is involved in a violent relationship, according to the most recent statistics from the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline.

The local workshop is free and will be held in Camden on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Health Resource Center on Battleship Road. Seating is limited and you must pre-register to attend. Each adult woman must be accompanied by a teen girl. All participants will receive a free tote bag, T-shirt, and dinner.

“We’re really excited to offer this workshop here in Kershaw County,” said Rosalyn Moses, Executive Director. “Participants will come away with knowledge about teen dating violence, and feeling empowered to engage in deliberate dialogue about healthy and unhealthy relationships.”

“It is critical that parents and other caring adults are able to recognize the signs of teen dating violence and, just as critical, that teens know they have the right to expect respect in their relationships. This workshop will do both,” said Moses.
